Commissioning Your Own Artwork
Commissioning your own artwork is one of the most exciting things you could do for yourself. A commissioned piece is made especially for you - your color palette, your design, your art. A commissioned piece is sure to match your space and personality perfectly.
Commissioning your own artwork is easy and collaborative.
First, complete my contact form here and tell me a little bit about your project. I’ll be in touch within 48 hours to send you a questionnaire and a time to meet via Zoom.
After we discuss the details of your art, we’ll sign an agreement to ensure we’re on the same page on timeline and your final piece. I require 50% of the final investment as a non-refundable retainer to be used towards your commissioned piece of art prior to beginning your painting.
Once I’ve received your retainer, I will keep you posted throughout the creative process and timeline of your painting.
Finally, your commissioned artwork is ready for you! I’ll send you both pictures and video of your final piece. You’ll fall in love. The final investment is due at this time prior to the artwork being shipped to you. After the final investment has been received, be on the lookout for your artwork made especially for you in the mail. *I’ve also been known to add something extra special for you as well.

A few frequently asked questions concerning commissioned pieces:
Why do I have to pay a 50% non-refundable retainer? This retainer covers communication and coordination, material costs, time, and talent to complete the piece or artwork. In the event that you decide to go a different way, this protects Monique Cara Studio from accruing additional costs that would not have otherwise been needed in the studio.
Who has the rights to a commissioned piece of art? All artwork - commissioned or otherwise - remains the sole property of Monique Cara Studio and is held under copyright after purchase. While you will receive the original artwork for a commissioned piece, Monique Cara Studio has the right to reproduce the commissioned artwork into prints to be sold in the shop.
Is shipping included? Shipping is included for all pieces on paper (up to 11x14) and canvases with a frame up to 12x16. Any artwork bigger than this, shipping will be calculated at the conclusion of the project and added to the final payment.
Fun fact: The Collaboration Collection was basically a collection of mini commissions. From feedback from followers on social, I created a collection that I knew would bring others joy by meeting them where they are and what color palettes they enjoyed best. Check it out here!
